Keoki’s is a no-frills spot in Lihue that centers around hearty, home-style Hawaiian and local comfort food. It feels like a neighborhood go-to more than a formal restaurant, with a casual, friendly vibe that invites you to slow down and enjoy a generous plate. You won’t find much in the way of white tablecloths or fancy presentation here — instead, the place serves up big portions of familiar dishes like loco moco, teriyaki burgers, and kalua pig breakfasts that locals have been returning to for years.

The atmosphere feels less like dining out and more like grabbing a solid meal from a trusted kitchen, often to-go given the setup. Many visitors pick up their orders and eat nearby — whether in the car or down by Kalapaki Beach. It’s the kind of spot where you don’t mind the relaxed surroundings, including the casual presence of free-roaming island chickens, which add a bit of local color to the experience.

Breakfast is a standout here, especially if you’re after something filling and flavorful without fuss. The plates come loaded with rice, eggs cooked just right, and famous homemade hash patties that keep people coming back. Expect classic island-style sides like mac salad, and day-to-day specials like curry chicken or teriyaki steak plates that reflect the diverse local palate.

Keoki’s caters most to those who value comfort, tradition, and a genuine island vibe over upscale dining. It’s well suited for early mornings or midday meals when you’re craving something substantial before heading out to explore the island. The staff are known for being warm and welcoming, making the pick-up experience smooth and friendly.

A practical note: the place operates cash only and offers ample parking, which makes it easy to grab your food and head off to soak in the natural beauty of nearby spots. Whether you’re a local who grew up enjoying Keoki’s or a traveler eager to taste authentic Hawaiian plate lunches in Lihue, this unpretentious spot delivers consistently solid, hearty meals.

Great food and delicious. Friendly staff. Don't mind the country chickens running loose. No that's not the huli huli chicken. Aloha

Always the best food, the best prices, and the best service. I have grown up eating Keoki’s and look forward to eating it every time I come home. The Prigge family makes delicious food and the quality of their food and service has stood the test of time. Keep in mind this is a pick up spot. We usually just eat in our car if we are starving or take our food to a nearby beach like Kalapaki to enjoy our food with a view. Always, always, ALWAYS support local small businesses!

Good hefty breakfast with HUGE portions! I got the corned beef hash plate and the fried CBH was pretty delicious! Tons of rice and the eggs were cooked over easy just as I order them! Nothing gourmet, but it hit the spot!

I NEVER write reviews, but this one I came sprinting to let you all know their breakfast is INCREDIBLE. It’s a hole in the wall serving up dishes made with love. The homemade hash patties knocked my flip flops off, paired with the fried rice I was in heaven. Sprint to Keoki’s because it was worth it. I wish I took a picture, but the phone was not eating first on this one

Best breakfast on the island! Huge portions, amazing value and great customer service! Felt like we were eating at someone’s house. Truly delicious. Hotcakes were MASSIVE and so fluffy. The loco moco was packed with flavor and hit the spot! Can’t wait to come back and have it again. Cash only. Tons of parking available.

Really nice people working there, and incredibly good food. We had the luau beef stew, shoyu chicken, and a burger. All of them were exceptional.

We visited this local restaurant last week during our vacation on the island. Don't confuse this restaurant with Keoki's Paradise restaurant from Koloa town. This little mom and pop shop in Lihue did not disappoint. We wanted to get brunch but by the time we arrived, their breakfast menu ended. However, the lady gave us a sample of the beef stew. We ended up ordering the beef stew and adobo. The portion was great and the food was amazing. I highly recommend their stew. Getting there might be tight. Also, there is no indoor sit down table. They had a little section on the side that they possibly set chairs and tables out but when we were there, there wasn't anywhere to sit so we ended up eating in the car. We saw a lot of people order and leave. Of all the nice restaurants we ate at during our vacation, this restaurant served as one of our must go places to eat and will definitely come back next time.
